Can AI Help You Find Love? Find Social Anxiety, Dating Confidence, and Hypnotherapy Support This Valentine’s Day

AI to find love on Valentines Day

On Valentine’s Day, there can be pressure to look for love and find a partner. But you might be someone who feels anxious in social situations, who stutters, or who feels embarrassed when meeting new people. AI might help you practice conversations, but real confidence comes from within.

Many people want connection but feel nervous speaking to others.

AI seems like a logical solution, but is it?

Although AI tools are becoming part of the modern dating process by answering questions and linking couples, they can distract from the underlying problem and from the personalised solutions you learn about yourself.

This week, I was surprised to discover how many people use AI to chat with a virtual companion.

If you think AI is the way to feel better about finding love on Valentine’s Day, I want to offer you a different perspective and help with the problem.

As a retired nurse and therapist for most of my life, I have worked with people on many aspects of relationships, including finding love, addressing relationship problems, and supporting someone who has lost a partner.

I know that Valentine’s Day often shines a spotlight on these issues and makes you feel worse because you can’t find a solution.

Why dating feels difficult for many people

There are many reasons dating can feel difficult, including our lifestyles and upbringings that shape how we think and behave, but there are ways to learn, cope with rejection and loss, and enjoy life.

Cultural ideas suggest that Valentine’s Day should be a happy time.

But on Valentine’s Day, it might highlight your feelings of loneliness, depression, relationship stress, and social expectations.

Reasons why dating feels difficult will include:

  • Low confidence and self-esteem
  • A fear of rejection
  • Historical relationship problems that stop you from getting involved with someone else
  • Worries about not being good enough
  • Fear of loss
  • Feeling awkward in social situations
  • Worries about embarrassing yourself
  • Stuttering or other communication concerns
  • Fear of sex
  • Overthinking conversations with others
  • Stress in other areas of your life
  • Lack of opportunity to meet new people.

You may know what you want to say, but social anxiety can get in the way.

Using AI to practice conversations and build confidence

Let me make this clear: I am not against AI. It has helped many people to find a partner through dating agencies. I am just holding up the flag of caution.

I weigh up the pros and cons and never forget that essential human connection we all need.

A Harvard Business Review found that companionship and therapy were the two top reasons for using AI.

So how can AI help people who are anxious and want to find a partner?

I think these are the key benefits:

  • It helps conversation by allowing you to practice small talk.
  • It’s a safe space to discuss difficult feelings and sensitive questions.
  • It could offer relationship advice, but remember that any advice may not fit your situation. This is why counsellors don’t give advice.
  • It can help you write dating profiles, especially if you struggle with expressing yourself.
  • You can ask AI to give you ways to behave to reduce social anxiety.
  • It can help you to rehearse possible conversations, but of course, you don’t know exactly what the other person’s conversation and response might be.
  • It could also suggest venues in your area to meet people whom you might be attracted to. For example, if you like certain music, it might tell you the best venues to go to.

Despite these examples, I still see AI as a practical tool, not a solution for finding love. Real-world relationships are messy and not logical like AI and Chatbots.

The risks of relying on AI to build relationships

I don’t think AI will give you all the solutions because:

  • AI can not replace that emotional connection.
  • AI can’t read body language or the incongruence between what is being said and what the person actually means.
  • AI avoids real interactions, such as an unexpected meeting.
  • Conversations may feel scripted, but that’s not how real conversations develop.
  • Emotional growth requires seeing things from a different perspective, experiencing situations and learning, sometimes by mistakes.

Furthermore, confidence happens through real interactions, not simulated conversations.

There have even been some reports that AI can increase suicidal thoughts and psychosis.

Social anxiety can be beaten

Getting help can be the emotional turning point.

Anxiety is one of the world’s most common complaints. And it can affect the start, development, and maintenance of relationships.

But more than that, it is also a problem that can wreck lives.

Along with anxiety comes a lack of confidence, but confident feelings and behaviours can be learnt.

The good news is that small changes can have good results.

Even professionals can freeze in conversations when meeting new people

Difficulty connecting with people on Valentine’s Day can feel just as awkward for professionals who excel in their work.

But maybe the difficulties have also crept in, making it harder to give presentations at work or meet new clients.

Relationships in your private life aren’t always the areas that you struggle with until you are in a new situation that requires confidence. You might feel out of control, unlike your position at work.

Perhaps you feel judged and just want to move forward, but now realise that building personal relationships and getting the right partner will address a missing part of your life.

You use AI daily to support your business, but it isn’t very helpful with the problem of securing a partner.

So can AI help you to find love?

I believe it may help with some questions, but it doesn’t know what it’s like to be human, wanting that human connection and intimacy with another person.

How hypnotherapy can help you feel more confident meeting people

Most people don’t think of hypnotherapy for reducing anxiety and building confidence, but hypnotherapy has been used for many years to treat difficult habits, negative thoughts and emotions.

It’s also a widely used tool for helping people improve their speaking, especially public speaking. It helps overcome the fear of public speaking by harnessing the power of your mind.

Hypnotherapy for relationships helps you to let go of past barriers and calm the nervous system.

It helps you replace negative thought patterns with positive ones.

It also helps you to do mental rehearsals and build confidence.

Unlike AI chats, in hypnotherapy sessions, it’s not necessary to answer many questions or go into great detail about past relationships that might be contributing to your difficulty connecting with someone on Valentine’s Day.

Commonly, clients looking for help with hypnotherapy only need around four or five sessions, depending on the difficulty of the problem.

AI could take you in different directions and take a long time, and never quite get to the root of the problem.

Through Awaken the Change, I connect with people worldwide, providing online hypnotherapy for relationships. Alternatively, I offer counselling sessions.

Remember, you do not need to become someone else to find a connection. You need to feel comfortable becoming yourself.

Its the authentic you that connects better.

Finally…

If social anxiety dating, fear of public speaking, lack of confidence meeting people, is stopping you from meeting someone, then hypnotherapy can help.

Overcome shyness, embarrassment, blushing, stuttering, and so much more.

Book a free consultation and let’s find the way forward. I can answer your questions and explain how online hypnotherapy is a safe and research-based way to reduce anxiety and feel so much better.
