What this website collects, and why
Enquiries. If you contact us through the website’s enquiry form, we collect your name, contact details, and anything you include in your message so we can respond. The enquiry is stored in the website’s database and delivered to us by email.
Please do not include detailed health or other sensitive information in a website enquiry. That information, if needed, is collected later through our practice systems and is covered by the Client Privacy Notice.
Payments. Payments are taken through the website using Stripe. Stripe processes your card and payment details on its own systems; we do not see or store your full card details. We keep a record of the transaction.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the website is used. Where you consent (see Cookies), GA4 sets cookies and collects usage information such as an online identifier, your approximate location (from your IP address), your device and browser, the pages you view, and how you reached the site. This information is shared with Google.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share data with
Stripe processes payments made through the website under its own privacy policy.
Google provides Google Analytics 4 and processes the analytics data above, under its own privacy policy.
Our hosting and email provider hosts the website and the mail server through which enquiries are delivered and stored.
Our webmaster has limited access to the website for support and maintenance.
Stripe and Google may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. The safeguards they apply to those transfers are set out in their own privacy policies.
How long we keep your data
The periods for which we keep website enquiries and payment records are set out in the retention section of our Privacy Notice for Clients, at www.awakenthechange.com/privacy-notice-for-clients/..
In Google Analytics, event data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for up to 14 months, after which it is deleted.
Cookies
This website uses three kinds of cookies:
Strictly necessary.
A small number of cookies are essential for the website (and the WordPress platform it runs on) to work — for example, to maintain a session or allow secure log-in. These do not require consent.
Analytics (consent required).
Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<id>), which last up to 2 years, to measure how the website is used. Because Google also uses this data for its own purposes, these cookies are not exempt from consent under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. They are set only after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via [the cookie settings link].
Payment.
Stripe may set cookies during checkout to process payments securely and help prevent fraud, in accordance with Stripe’s own policy.
We do not use advertising, remarketing, or social media tracking cookies on this website. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser; general information is at www.aboutcookies.org.
Your rights and how to contact us
You have rights over your personal data, including the rights to access it, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask anything about this notice, contact linda@awakenthechange.com. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk/ or 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The current version is the one published on this page, and the “last reviewed” date above shows when it was last updated.
